Purchasing FAQ
We are offering a 20% discount on a new license purchase for all owners of a Toolbag 4 Individual-tier perpetual license. Please check the inbox of the email address that purchased your v4 perpetual license to retrieve your discount code.
The discount applies to a new license purchase, your choice of one of the following licenses:
- Toolbag 5 – Individual License – Perpetual
- Toolbag Subscription – Individual License – Yearly Renewal (discount applies to first 12-months only)
When placing your order, first add your license to the cart, proceed to the checkout page, then log in using the “Marmoset account” login form displayed along the top of the Checkout form. Once logged in, enter your coupon code in the box above the billing details.
Additional Notes:
- Upgrade discounts do not apply to Studio-tier licenses.
- Upgrades are not required for a subscription license – active subscriptions always have access to the latest release.
- This is a discount offer on a new license purchase. Use of this discount will not affect the status of your v4 license.
There are no additional software maintenance fees required. All customers receive complimentary technical support and account support via email, or through our Marmoset Discord, for the lifetime of the software product.
- Perpetual licenses require a one-time fee which grants indefinite access to the version you purchased, with all minor point release updates included free of charge (i.e. v5 perpetual license receives all v5.* updates).
- Subscription licenses are available on a monthly or annual renewal term. A Toolbag subscription has the benefit of being version-independent. As long as you’re an active subscriber you’ll have access to the latest release of Marmoset Toolbag.
Any purchase placed directly through our web store will assign the purchased licenses to the account/email address used during the checkout — payment via credit card, debit card, and PayPal is available.

Toolbag is now available with two options of licensing: perpetual and subscription.

- Subscription licenses are available on a monthly or annual renewal term. A Toolbag subscription has the benefit of being version-independent. As long as you’re an active subscriber you’ll have access to the latest release of Marmoset Toolbag and all available Toolbag Library assets.

Licensing FAQ
Toolbag’s licenses used web-based authentication, and a full user account system (email and password) as your software login. Create your Marmoset account, install the latest software release, and log into the software to either begin a free trial license, or receive full access with your paid subscription or perpetual license.
Further management of your Toolbag licenses and subscription settings is available through Toolbag’s licensing account portal.
Yes! Each major version of Marmoset Toolbag (i.e. v4, v5, etc.) are separate installs, with separate directories for things like app preferences and autosaves. Feel free to install and continue to use multiple licensed versions of Toolbag on the same machine as needed.
License seats will auto-transfer between machines for all machines logged into Toolbag with the same Marmoset account. There is no limit per account on how many license seat transfers may occur. However, transfers are limited by a short cooldown period.
Each time the software is used, a license from that account is locked to the machine with a 30-minute cooldown period, and is eligible to be reallocated to another machine once its cooldown period has lapsed. All license cooldown periods for your licenses can be monitored through the licensing account portal.
All Studio and Academic tier licenses can make use of Sub User tools through Toolbag’s license portal (see Users page).
You may have your end users access the software using your primary account credentials as their software login, or assign a license seat to a specific sub user, or assign multiple license seats to a sub user account for shared use by a group of end users. The admin account for the licenses maintains the ability to revoke a license from a sub user at any time, and reassign to another user.
Note: Toolbag licenses allow 1 concurrent user per license seat. License seats assigned to a user will freely transfer between any machines using Toolbag under the same user account login.
To review your active subscriptions and adjust any renewal settings, start on the Orders page of your account through Toolbag’s license portal. Any subscriptions will be listed under the “Your Subscriptions” header, and click the gear icon ⚙️to ‘Manage Subscription’, which will redirect you to the billing portal where you can change renewal status, update your payment methods, or even billing address on file.
Note: Redirecting from the license portal to the billing portal does require you to log in again with your Marmoset account credentials.
