Q: What hardware is required to run Toolbag 4?

Q: Which operating systems are supported?

Toolbag is available on Windows and Mac. Windows users must be running Windows 10. Mac users must be running macOS 10.15 "Catalina" or newer.

Q: Subscription -vs- Perpetual: Which license type is for me?

Toolbag is now available with two options of licensing: perpetual and subscription. Perpetual licenses require a one-time fee which grants indefinite access to version 4, with all version 4.x updates included free of charge. A perpetual license also provides access to all Toolbag Library assets released by Marmoset. Subscription licenses are available on a monthly or annual renewal term. A Toolbag subscription has the benefit of being version-independent. As long as you're an active subscriber you'll have access to the latest release of Marmoset Toolbag and all available Toolbag Library assets. Q: Can I run multiple versions of Toolbag on the same machine?

Each major version of Marmoset Toolbag (i.e. v4, v5, etc. ) are separate installs, with separate directories for things like app preferences and autosaves. Q: Login Error: "Authentication Failed: Could not connect to license server."

Q: Is My Artwork Secure With Marmoset Viewer?

Much like JPEGs, GIFs, and videos, 3D models & textures must be sent in full to the browser client in order to be rendered. This, in short, makes robust copy-protection essentially impossible for all software that renders 3D on the web. While we at Marmoset do not supply, support, or condone any tools for extracting data from Marmoset Viewer scenes, third party software can be created to accomplish this to varying degrees. We think 3D content on the web is really cool. It’s our belief that the rewards of displaying high quality 3D content online greatly outweigh the potential risks. For particularly sensitive content, one might opt to share 3D artwork privately; pages like ArtStation offer private, password-protected posts . The 3D art industry is generally very unkind to thieves and frauds. If you spot stolen artwork online, contact the administrator of the site where it was posted so that it can be removed. Encourage friends and coworkers to take the same action. Theft of this kind is less a case for impenetrable security than a social problem we can all help combat.

Q: Why Does My Sky Background Look Different?

The skybox background is blurred to a uniform value to save memory and improve loading time, so the background appearance may differ between Toolbag and Viewer. For accurate preview, set background mode to blurred in Toolbag.
